Topic: Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls: Using Screencast Technology to Enhance your Instructional Practice Objectives: Teachers will explore the power of digital screencast to enhance instruction. They will create a screencast for the introduction of screencasting in their instruction. Course Description:
The web is all about sharing. Screencasting lets you share a recording of your computer screen activity, along with your voice or other audio, for others to view. Perhaps you want to demonstrate how to use a certain piece of software, or navigate through a website - screencasting can record the whole thing. Screencasts can be short demonstrations, or longer tutorials. This workshop will show you how to create your own screencasts, examine a few screencasting tools, and provide tips and insights for making the most of your screencasts. By the end of this workshop you will have a clear understanding of using screencasts to differentiate instruction and the many uses for developing screencasts. We will look closely at Jing and the steps necessary to share videos with community. Teachers will begin to shift their thinking about how students can learn and work in developing the self taught student model. Facilitators:
